Dabei spielt die effiziente Nutzung aller Ressourcen der Hardware eines Rechners eine ebenso wichtige Rolle, wie die Aspekte der Vernetzung (Cloud-Computing).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-dm-sans-font-family\">Forschungsgegenst\u00e4nde sind spezielle Anwendungen paralleler und verteilter Systeme, wie z.B. K\u00fcnstliche Intelligenz, Containervirtualisierung, Smart Cities und Smart Environments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"has-large-font-size wp-block-heading\" style=\"margin-top:30px\">Smart Environments<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-dm-sans-font-family\">Smart Environments sind Umgebungen, in denen vernetzte Sensoren rechnergest\u00fctzt \u00fcberwacht werden. Zur Veranschaulichung stehen im Labor zwei Biotonnen mit F\u00fcllstandsensoren. Der Server, den die Stadt Regensburg zur Planung von Routen zwischen Tonnen dieser Art nutzt, l\u00e4uft ebenfalls im Labor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"has-large-font-size wp-block-heading\" style=\"margin-top:30px\">High-Performance Computing<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-dm-sans-font-family\">Probleme wie die optimale Planung von Buslinien lassen sich schon f\u00fcr wenige Fahrzeuge nur mit exponentiellem Aufwand (d.h. nicht exakt) l\u00f6sen. Moderne Ans\u00e4tze kombinieren Approximationsalgorithmen mit Machine Learning.
