Together with experts from Schaeffler, Terra Quantum AG, Anaqor and IBM, Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Mauerer, Director of the Regensburg Center for Artificial Intelligence and Head of the Laboratory for Digitalisation at OTH Regensburg, spoke at KI Park e.V.’s workshop on Quantum Computing for Automotive Engineering. He presented the impressive work of his research group, which significantly contributes to quantum technology research in Germany and regularly presents their work at renowned international conferences.<\/h6>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this workshop, led jointly by Theresa Schreyer from Vitesco Technologies and Clemens Binder from KI Park e.V., the synergies between quantum computing and artificial intelligence in automotive engineering were explored, with a particular focus on temperature prediction in high-voltage traction inverters using thermal models.<\/h6>\n\n\n\n

The workshop focused on the integration of AI and quantum methods for optimization, addressing the differences between using emulators and real qubits. Participants examined classical solutions, algorithms for model order reduction, and the potential of physics-informed neural networks to solve complex nonlinear differential equations.

Applications of quantum computing in manufacturing simulations, molecular assimilation of electrode materials, and machine learning for bin-picking tasks were discussed. The importance of benchmarking and learning from research projects was emphasized, with a focus on how quantum computing can transform complex industrial processes.
